Some of the cream of the last century’s talent, Cole Porter, Tupac, Biggie, James Brown, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson to name but a few. That & all centuries past, will stand up for their lot at the end of days in the grand resurrection of the dead as prophesied in God’s Holy Word the Bible. This is no mere dream or flight of fancy, in fact, sooner would heaven & earth pass away than one scripture go unfulfilled. Surer than night follows day is this precious hope.

This assumption is based on the inspired writings of the apostle Paul, having paid the price of sin; death, there will be a resurrection of the righteous & the unrighteous. Billions now dead will live again as the common grave; sheol is emptied. This is possible due to Jehovah God’s love & limitless, perfect memory.

It is not something given much attention in this world ruled by Satan the Devil, all the suffering we see around us, indeed even lascivious living is but a distraction from this Biblical truth.

Pretty pleased with my first taste of KDE, kinda like a nice curry. How the laws of repo management work, I confess I do not know. Mine are already a rabbit warren of randomly hacked crossed wires & tangled spaghetti like complexity. I’ll use it till it breaks & then reinstall. If only Caffeine & Nuvola Player worked, but hey ho, you expect some bugs with Linux…

Beetroot. Wonderful stuff. Real miracle juice. One of it’s many health promoting properties; if you have too little stomach acid, it increases the acid, too much & it decreases stomach acid. So, car runs better than it ever has before after a basic service!

New coil, cleaned connections (thanks Ben), new plugs, oil/filter change, new points gapped to 0.45 (new condenser), timing set statically (needing no adjustment dynamically.) I will remove both wings in order to service valves eventually (lamp looms colour coded) but need to get knocking sorted firstly for MOT which is due next week.

The only thing standing in my way is the points box cover secured by three screws, one of which needs a female thread repair. Most of the engine is aluminium, so a stripped thread is a reality sooner or later. Hoping to clean up with a M4 x 0.7mm (thread pitch) tap on loan from my brother. Ever the perfectionist I do not want oil ingress into points box. >: (

She springs into life eager to start, less choke needed, idles double lovely & as far as can tell revs OK. Though not yet driven. So. There we go, yo.

Tumbleweed/Skype

Not sure this is worthy of a blog post, but here goes, maybe it’ll help someone, you never know.

Replaced my openSUSE 12.3 repos with Tumbleweed repos, rolling release, hopefully never install again! Tumbleweed how to.

Skype did not work out the box. Ref: SDB:Skype – openSUSE

I quote;

“For 64-bit installation of openSUSE 12.2 (implicates 12.3)
You will need the corresponding *-32bit RPM packages, since skype is only offered in 32-bit. The Skype rpm from skype.com depends on these so it will install them automatically. However, on most openSUSE systems pulseaudio is used and this is not a hard dependency so you will need to install this to get sound.”

openSUSE 12.3 KDE ~ Lenovo E325

Manfully struggled all day (much cursing!) to get Open SUSE 12.3 installed, the best implementation of KDE to date, on my Lenovo E325.

Xubuntu had a nasty network bug where it would kick itself off the network taking everything else with it. The only solution was power cycling the router. I tried compiling the latest wireless driver, also the latest router firmware, but it would even happen with Ethernet. It would also kick itself off Wetherspoon’s public network.

The latest kernel should support UEFI, but SUSE would not boot! I had to switch to Legacy Mode in BIOS, whereupon recreating the partition table was key; therefore deleting previous GPT partition table.

Now then…

The Dyane 6 has a full 4hp more roar power than the equivalent 2CV! Also the engines are hardy, 200, 000 miles is not unheard of if serviced regularly (every 3000 miles.)
