I like my IBM T21, a vintage of twelve years. I like it’s mesmeric whirring as it deliberates with great care & accurately plots it’s next output to my input. A thoroughbred T Series, it still has one of the best keyboards ever made. Its replacement maybe a ThinkPad Edge, not considered a real ThinkPad by the connoisseurship of the elite who can afford such things.
Apparently the international space station uses ThinkPads, also F1 among others. I am now a convert having sampled the delights of ThinkPad ownership. I hope to purchase anew when the fresh line up goes on sale, sporting both USB III & Thunderbolt.
Meanwhile, I aim to treat myself to a PATA SSD as one last and final upgrade, retiring the current traditional spinner to back up duties.
So here’s to many more years of happy computing.
