hi there, i have had this problem for some time and i have tried the above solution with no success but i did have my own work around and installed srware iron browser, its essentially the same thing… and for some reason it doesn’t have the same problem….
i know chromium and srware iron browser are not the same thing…. for the record..

just fyi: this did not work for me on xubuntu 13.10. 😦

on a different note, google chrome’s assumption that linux implies gnome and therefore using the gnome-keyring is pretty stupid, I feel.

Yes, information dates faster then a fast thing on the internet. Hope you find a solution, I stopped using Xubuntu around 12.04.

Hey, thanks for the reply and update. Just curious: what distro did you switch to? 🙂

BTW, can I request you to look through my blog and post any constructive comments you may have? Greatly appreciate your help on that.

Switched my laptop to a, somewhat, experimental openSUSE 12.3 (now 13.1) on rolling release repos (Tumbleweed.) Hopefully I’ll never have to reinstall again, till it breaks! Proven to be a double edged sword, things get fixed but also encounter regressive bugz. My desktop/tower still on 12.04 LTS steady as a rock.
